Hey guys, so we actually just got back from Florida!! We had an epic family reunion and we also went to Disney World. It was the best 8 days ever!! Anyways, my cousin flew all the way from Chile to see us, and it turns out she also really likes slime. So, I took a risk and brought 4 of my slimes on the plane. I didn't bring my absolute favorite slimes because I was afraid they might get confiscated. :( And thankfully, I was able to safely take my slimes on the plane! So, today I am going to be sharing some of my tips about bringing slime on a plane. :) Tip 1: I used these small plastic containers that I love using to store slime. Tip 2: PLEASE store all your slime/slime ingredients in a plastic bag to avoid any messes. Tip 3: I would recommend bringing your slime in your suitcase as opposed to your carry on- just in case :) And as always, be sure to comment down below if you have any questions or comments! :)

Hey guys, I recently found out something awesome!! (this is for you parents out there!!) So, you probably all know by now that slime sticks to carpet and will not come out. But, I have found out a n easy way to get it out, if you do happen to get it in the carpet. It's super simple. So, what you'll need is some citric acid (a common bath bomb ingredient and totally safe ), and a wet rag. So all you need to do is pour a little citric acid (the amount depending on the size of the slime that's on the carpet) onto the slime and scrub with the rag, and it should start to melt into a liquidy glue texture. you can rinse the rag off if desired, then just scrub for a couple of minutes until the stain is gone!! (It might leave a slight stain if you spilled black or dark colored slime though.) And yes, I did learn this from experience :P hehe yeah, my mom was impressed, but, sadly, there is still a no slime on carpet rule. :( btw, this will also work on clothes or hair! comment down below if you tried this hack!! :) :) :P By Slimekid

There has been a slow but steady progression of slimekid's slime habit taking over the dining room area. It's not so much that I hate slime, but...I do like to sit down for a meal without my arms or our meal stuck to unidentifiable gooey substances. Slime-making was restricted to one day a week and one room. At one point I offered slimekid an entire cabinet in which to store her slime making supplies and completed product. (She has her slime up for sale on Etsy.) We cleaned out all the old PlayDoh, batteries, and spare bags and found boxes to put her supplies in. Ahh, order. But every night the supplies had wild parties and by morning would be spilling out of the cabinet and onto the floor. Soon they began to appear in stacks on the counter and across the room on the floor- not to mention all over the table. This inspired a grand cleaning and reorganization of the garage. I was able to put out two folding tables, one for slimekid and the other for, hmm..anti-slimekid? I gave them permission to do all messy projects on the tables and keep the tables as messy or as neat as they chose. She was also then allowed to make slime as often as she wanted. The completed slime went into boxes under the tables. Win-win! But several cold weeks later, slimekid has come to me saying that the cold is affecting her slime. She has become very good at making the perfect slime, but a week or two in the cold garage will turn it into a bad slime. (And even I can see the difference when she shows me.) Sigh. So, the slimes are back in the house, stashed away. But the slime-making will continue to be in the garage where messes can be made and supplies left out. I think that's a fair deal. If you're wondering where kids should make slime, my advice is not on carpet! Generally the supplies used are cosmetics r craft supplies that are intended to go on the skin, or are at least nontoxic. After a good wipedown your table should be safe to eat off of, and maybe cleaner than ever depending on the ingredients. Store slime at room temperature for best results. Cold temperatures will harden and dry the slime and hot temperatures can melt it. by slimekid

Hey guys, it's slimekid! Have any of you guys been making slime for a while, and are bored of making the same kind of slime over and over again? That's me! Well, i have some slime recipes that you probably haven't heard of before, and you probably have most of the ingredients at home! Lets get started.😁 1. Cake batter slime! This slime is a thick white slime with colorful "sprinkles". Start by pouring your glue into the bowl and add a pinch of baking soda if you are using contact solution. Now add some cornstarch. (it should be about two parts glue and 1 part cornstarch) Next add your activator slowly until your slime starts to pull away from the bowl and then pick it up with your hands and knead it until it isn't sticky any more. Now it's time to add the "sprinkles". You can use real sprinkles if you have them, but I didn't, so I improvised! I cut up rubber bands into small strips that look like sprinkles! Now, just mix as many as you want into your slime and you are done!!😁😁 2. Tissue slime! This slime is exactly what it's name suggests; slime with tissues in it! it is thick and it feels really cool! Start by pouring some glue into your bowl and then start activating it like you normally would. Don't fully activate it, stop when you've activated it about halfway and then grab some tissues. Now pull the the two layers of tissue apart and place one onto your slime (still in the bowl), and mix. now repeat this step until your slime is not sticky and you can hold it with your hand. You're done!😏 I am obsessed with these slimes right now, and I hope you guys try these recipes out!

Our family just got back from a much-anticipated road trip. Yellowstone is amazing!! On the last day we broke up the drive home and stopped to visit family friends who have a daughter close in age to ours. We stopped at a store to pick up a gift for our hosts and my daughter zoomed over to the contact lens section and then the glue section. She found a good deal on glue and quickly bought two bottles. (If you shop for slime supplies enough you know exactly what is a good deal.) Sometimes Amazon is cheaper, but she doesn't always have the patience to wait for one of her parents to place an order. :) Anyway, it was so fun to see the two girls, who have only seen each other a handful of times in their lives, bond over slime-making. Slimekid was able to share some of her knowledge and teach her friend how to make jiggly slime, and they passed it around to all the adults (including several teachers) to get feedback. We arrived home last night and as soon as we went to pick up our fish at the neighbor's house, the neighbor kid was showing how she mixed all her slimes together to make one really big gooey mess. And she couldn't wait to show Slimekid! That made me smile too. Another partner in slime. Btw, slimekid just told me that one gallon of Elmer's glue is now at the lowest price she's seen on Amazon!! Only $10.79. It seems the price just keeps dropping. It's now lower quite a bit lower than any price we've seen in stores, too. Check it out! One of the main reasons for this site is to be a resource to help those who want to make DIY slime. Please comment below if you have any questions you'd like answered, or something you need help with in your own slime-making. We look forward to hearing from you! ???? |
