I admit, I've been lazy about posting. I have my own blogs (and of course, work!) and I've been really impressed with how my daughter has just taken off with this project. Though the craft stores seem to be on to the next thing (any thoughts on what that next thing may be??), they are still stocking plenty of glue and slime-making supplies. It's still big in the neighborhood. And this website gets more hits each month. This weekend I managed to clean out the garage. This is big!! We also hosted a garage sale. Because of this, my house became the center of activity for all the kids in the neighborhood. They all put out their unwanted things to sell- and ended up selling them to each other. I opened the garage door to find at least 6 kids in there focused on the project of a large bucket of slime. First there was the making of it, and then...the giant slime bubbles. If you've never seen a giant slime bubble, well, it does seem fun. These bubbles took two kids to make them, one on each side. They each pulled two corners and flapped the slime up and down until it was thin enough, and then WHAP! the edges went down on the floor to create a large bubble in the middle. Lots of fun was had, until one smaller child with long hair got in the way. :( A huge glop got into her hair. She tried to pick out the excess, but she has a lot of hair so there was a lot of slime sticking to it. She didn't want to go wash it, so her mom flopped the slimed piece back and stuck it onto the rest of her hair. (This was upsetting enough to get her to go wash the slime out!) Only a few minutes later she was back as if nothing had happened. Slime is pretty easy to get out of hair with just warm water. I say it's worth it, seeing how much fun those kids were having. And...if you're hesitant to let your kids make slime bubbles, slime doesn't stick to hard flooring. But it does pick up all the dirt that's on it!! ;P
